HANDMADE

Ladybird beetle pendant

$40.00

Hand carved ladybird beetle pendant made from buckthorn wood. Covered with hard wax oil. The spots on the beetle are made of bamboo using a special inlay technique. The beetle’s red color is the natural color of this wood. I was inspired by a real species of beetle—the four-spot ladybird. The beetle has exactly 10 spots, just as this species does in nature. By the way, the number of spots on a beetle's shell does not indicate the beetle's age, as is commonly believed. The number of spots on a beetle's body indicates which species it belongs to. The wooden beetle is intricately detailed on all sides and also features legs and all the necessary parts on the back. A unique insect necklace for nature lovers, entomology enthusiasts and people who appreciate handmade wood carving.
