Akita Inu pendant

Hand carved wooden dog pendant made from walnut wood and finished with hard wax oil. I made this dog in what is probably the cutest pose a dog can strike. Even though it’s a wooden dog, few people can resist giving its tummy a scratch. Its cute pose, kind expression and comically folded paws – everything about this dog speaks of great loyalty and love. This is exactly how I see dogs: loyal and loving. I was inspired to create this pendant by the Akita Inu breed of dog. The Akita Inu is known for being quiet, proud, and dignified. They rarely bark without a serious reason. Intensely loyal and deeply bonded to their owners. The pendant is fully carved on all sides, making it a true 3D miniature sculpture, not a flat cut-out. Every line, curve, and detail is shaped by hand, so the piece has a warm, organic feel you only get from real carving, not machine work.
